My final project for CTX is a short film that will be called “Lip Rouge Anguished”. It is a group project, so my friend and I are the only members of the team because we both had similar ideas for a short film with the genre- horror. A lot of people might not like horror, or might even think it is very easy to make, because all we have to do was to scare the audience but what I have realized while researching and doing a story line for this film is that it is not so easy to come up with something original and scary at the same time.

     One of the criteria for the CTX final project is that it has to have a meaning, a teaching sort of. To make a combination of scary, meaningful and also school appropriate was a challenge. Moreover the film cannot be too long, it has to be short (5 minutes max) so that the audience does not lose interest. It is not easy to fit in an entire story in just a 5 minutes video, but we have to make in possible. But since we have only 2 group members, we will need a few more friends to act in it. The story line was another problem, because this short film will actually be a part 2nd of a previous short film I had done for semester one CTS. To connect both stories and answer all the question that were unanswered in the 1st part, and also fulfill all the criteria for the CTX final project is going to be tough. We will have to include some parts from my previous film as well, to show the connection, but according to our final story line, the previous video’s clips will come up in the middle of the film instead of at the beginning, so we are hoping it will be clear enough for the audience to understand the true story line. Also it was tough to come up with a meaning for the horror film. Because what could people possibly learn from a horror movie of just 5 minutes? But my friend and I somehow raked our brains and finalized the mane meaning/ plot of the movie will be on “karma”.

     A lot of research had to be done to even decide what type of jump scares or scary scenes we want to do, since we are not professionals nor do we have any of the professional equipment. This is why we only chose parts we could perhaps recreate in our own way to fit into the story line.  After all these time spent on planning, I only hope the filming goes well and we can achieve what we are hoping for.
