The motion lines are the best way to show the direction and speed of the movement, and also the object. As shown above, The first picture shows a swift movement of the sword from top to down in a curved motion, the second picture shows movement of the person, and the third shows the movement of the sword in a left to right motion.
The two picture on the left are identical except for the motion lines. The first concentrates only on the ball and bat,
the second however is using line to create an powerful scene to show it has a great impact and is of significance.
The first picture is a good example of showing the movement of the ball and how it bounces off the ground and the wall, along with the points it has hit the surfaces.
the second picture, with the use of circular motion line around the girl shows that the girl is spinning in the motion that is followed by the lines around her.
