Underlying Motives
This movie was made in 2004. It's about teenage girls and how a clique of girls rule the school. The reason why I chose this movie is because I can relate to it somewhat and even after do many years, this movie is still relevant and teens of this generation can relate to it. So I want to analyze this movie further because it is beautifully directed and produced, and due to the way the situations are portrayed, this movie is truly unique and beats the rest of the movies about cliques.
SOME LINES FROM THE MOVIE
I had a lot of friends in Africa. But so far, none in Evanston.
So on the first day Cady ends up having lunch alone in the bathroom stall. We all know making new friends isn't easy. In fact I'm facing that right now, so I can relate to the character Cady that how hard it actually is to fit into a group.
I know it's wrong to skip class. But Janis said we are friends. And I was in no position to pass up friends
Okay so Cady finally made some friends and they get talking and gets to know a little about the school and the other students. which is a nice help to get when you are new. And I agree with Cady, she shouldn't pass up the opportunity to make some friends.
I think it would be, like, a fun little experiment if you were to hangout with them and then tell us everything they say.
This is where Cady's friends convince her to hangout with the popular girls just to get to know their secrets. what Cady didn't know was that why Janis hated Regina. So obviously, Janis had a motive which Cady was unaware of.
Girl world has a lot of rules.
We cut out girls pictures from the year book and then we wrote comments.
She was such a good.....
trust me when I say this but girl world actually has a lot of rules. But not like the rules made by the plastics, for example: on Wednesdays they have to wear pink. But the part where they say "you don't date your friend's ex" is actually a rule I agree upon.
They had this Burn Book from a really long time ago where the Plastics wrote down mean comments about the girls in rest of the class. But then somehow Cady gets into a tough position and has to write down some things about Damien which she did not intend to. All these just to fit in and make the plastics like Cady.
Just when Cady thought Regina was talking to Aron to fix them up, Regina kissed Aron. Cady realized how bad Regina actually is, and that instead of talking to Aron about Cady, she got back with Aron.
Regina George is an evil dictator
The weird thing about hanghing out with Reginais that i could hate her and at the same time still wanted her to like me.
I was a women possessed. I spent about 80% of my time talking about Regina.
Janis,Cady and Damien wanted to get revenge from Regina, so they made a plan. Cady kept pretending to be their friend to get back at her. And need I say Cady did succeed in separating the plastics.
While pretending to be a part of the plastics, she was actually kind of enjoying it, even though she hated Regina and was sabotaging the friendship of the other girls.
She turned into Regina George. She talked like her, acted like her, dressed like her and even manipulated people just like Regina did.
Because you are a mean girl.
I hope that nobody else ever does see it.
I guess it's probably because I've got a big lesbian crush on you.
Cady turned into a clone of Regina. Janis finds out She lied about the party and ditched her art show. Janis called out Cady in her act.
Oh but people did see it. Everyone saw it. Regina printed out the pages and spread it all around the school. All the girls got into a fight and turned against each other.
Janis confessed in front of the whole school about how she convinced Cady about being fake friends with Regina to get back at her, and also about their plan about getting revenged.
That's what I had to do, suck all the poison out of my life.
Cady tries to fix the damages she had done. She wants to have a normal life instead of being a part of the plastics.
Finally girl world was at peace.
The plastics split up and gets into different friend groups and activities. So technically the girl group was at peace because the plastics were no longer ruling it.
