The portrait landscape was then made into a landscape illustrator by following the dimensions required for the submission. the tree and the stars were done in photoshop using the paint brush tool.

This is the completed vector landscape that I submitted, but decided to resubmit and make a new landscape from scratch.

I was searching for an inspiration to create a landscape for the poem shown on the left. This is when I found this picture and thought it fit the poem perfectly with the colors and the ambiance.
So I decided to trace this vector landscape to the best I can.

Since this landcape has so many layers, best was to start from the back and gradually reach the front. This would save me time from having to constantly arrange position of each sublayers.

The big clouds in the background are half transparent and half white, it is like a white gradient but very subtle. Created it using the curve tool and then used gradient fill.

This is how the overall sky looks like after the clouds and gradient sky is layered.

Then I started on the background mountains, I tried to recreate the gradient with similar colors as the picture shows.

After The initial shape was done, I used the knife took to separate it into sections to create more depth.

This is whole background of the picture completed with the gradient fill to show depth and shadow.

I used texture overlay on the mountains to give the similar effect as the picture.

After doing the other parts, I was getting worried about it being pixelated due to the texture, As seen above.

After exporting, I saw the pixelated stays and makes the whole vector look bad and photoshoped.

After removing the texture, I exported again, and it fixed the pixelated issue.

To create more depth and give extra dimension, I added two layers of white transparent gradient to give the effect of haze.

Since there are too many layers involved. I decided to create the front mountain slope part separate and then drag it into position after completion. Here you can see the basic shapes formed without the correction in the gradient fill.

The mountain slope with the gradient fills done to create the illusion of depth.

To create the shadows of the trees on the slope, I first grouped the whole slope, then used the knife tool to slide the shape according to the shadows in the original picture.

This is how it turned out with the opacity at 100% and the dark brown fill on the shadow.

The whole slope with the shadows were over layed on top of the previous existing colored slope, then the shadow were only kept, and the other sliced parts of the slope were deleted. The shadows opacity was reduced to show the underlying true color and gradient of the original slope.

The trees and the bushes were added as the final layers

As the cherry on top, I added similar details to the tree trunks as the original picture.

This was the final outcome of vector landscape illustration.
