This was the first project assigned for the module. we each had to select an insect and make it out of recycled materials.

I chose the blue beetle, there was no specific scale given but we had to make it within A4 size in both width and height.

For the structure of the body I used scrape cardboard pieces I had, for the structure of the wings I used wires to make the curve structure, for the stuffing cottons balls were used. to cover up the body, I cut up a old satin pillow case I had, and sewed/glued it to the body frame. For the legs and underneath of the bug, I used pieces of black felt cloth I had already and used super glue to

glue them to the cardboard legs and antennas.

To add in some depth to the body and also to add in texture, i drew on some dots with a white paint marker.

These are some of the pictures of the insect model I made.

For our second project, we were to make a life size animal, and the theme given was asian land animals. For our group project, we chose a sunbear. But to start making the overall shape and frame of the bear. we drew the bear, like floor plans and traced wire around it to make the basic frames. After that we started to attach those main frames with thinner wires, and then filled up the gaps with more wire.

After the whole frame was completed, we spray painted the whole structure black, and then spray painted some parts golden to add in some details and depth to the structure and make it more life like.

For the final project, (group project) we were required to make use pvc pipes to make a bird structure, and the criteria was that we can cut up to make the shape but we have to keep 80% of it. We used the workshop and the power tools provided to us to make the shape.

We then primed the pvc pipe, spray painted a few coats of different colors to make the structure look more like  bald eagle.
